Lamia

Lamia

One of a set of images originally produced for the artshow at “Interaction” the 2005 World Science Fiction Convention. Model Jo. The miniature set was made of foam board and expanded polystyrene photographed to match the perspective of the photo of the main subject. Backdrop was made with Bryce. Inspiration was the Hammer Films of the late sixties, the mausoleum was based on one at Kensal Green Cemetery.

Updated April 2006: when I produced the original image I felt the skyline needed something like a dead tree, unfortunately I had no suitable stock shot to hand and using stock would be difficult anyway as it had to be backlit by the moon. So over last winter I made a miniature dead tree and a shot of it has now been incorporated. Photograph copyright Paul Holroyd
